Barn Swallows have a deeply-forked tail which helps them be very agile and maneuverable fliers. There is a legend that they go this deeply forked tail because they stole fire from gods to bring to people. Upon discovering this theft, an angry god hurled a firebrand at the swallow, which scorched the middle feathers of its tail, thus leaving it with the forked-tail it has.
